LTC Why Resilience is Key with Fiona Hill CBE and Major General Paul Tedman CBE

19 March 2026

Resilience is no longer optional - it’s shaping the new global order. This theme took centre stage at our recent LTC breakfast at the Royal Air Force Club.

A special thank you to Major General Paul Tedman, strategic defence leader and Commander of the UK Space Command and Fiona Hill CBE, former Joint Chief of Staff to the UK Prime Minister and Founder of The Future Resilience Forum for leading the conversation.

Space stood out as a focal point, described as the “central nervous system of modern systems.” Its strategic importance for infrastructure, innovation and competitiveness reinforces the case for the UK to build on its strengths.

For investors, the message was clear: sectors such as space, critical minerals and digital infrastructure are becoming key to national and economic resilience, creating new opportunities for private capital to lead. The discussion also urged a shift beyond risk-averse thinking, with greater alignment between government and private investment to unlock long-term opportunities.
