We had the privilege of attending an evening with Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis - one of the world’s most visionary technologists. His company DeepMind, now owned by Google, sits at the forefront of the race to build artificial general intelligence. He was joined by bestselling author Sebastian Mallaby. The discussion, brilliantly moderated by Bloomberg’s Tom Mackenzie  focused on Mallaby's newly published bestselling book The Infinity Machine: Demis Hassabis, DeepMind and the Quest for Superintelligence. Based on unprecedented access, the book traces Hassabis’s journey from chess prodigy to Nobel Prize winner and leader in AI, detailing the intense arms race toward artificial general intelligence and the ethical stakes of the technology.
