LTC Biotech Breakthroughs: Changing the Odds in Cancer and Aging
28 April 2026
Another insightful evening with LTC members, bringing together Dr Vladimir Cmiljanovic, CEO of Swiss Rockets and Joe Stringer, Executive Chairman of Automata and former Google Health in EMEA, for a fascinating conversation on how technology is changing the odds in cancer, aging and disease prevention.
The evening began with a powerful sense of how quickly the healthcare frontier is moving. Advances in AI, robotics, genomic sequencing and diagnostics are beginning to converge - fundamentally changing how we detect, understand and treat disease.
Vladimir shared how Swiss Rockets is building a platform at the centre of this shift, combining next-gen DNA sequencing, oncology expertise, genomic data and AI-enabled analysis with an ambitious mission: to detect disease earlier, treat it more precisely and ultimately improve outcomes for patients.
Joe highlighted the challenge of scale. Even as the science advances, healthcare still depends on complex lab workflows and long development cycles. This is where automation becomes critical. AI-enabled lab automation is key to removing these bottlenecks - increasing throughput, improving data quality and accelerating iteration.
Together, the discussion highlighted how healthcare is shifting from a reactive model towards a more predictive, preventative and personalised one, with longevity as a compelling frontier. For investors, this signals a major opportunity: much like compute, chips and cloud infrastructure are critical to the AI economy, the infrastructure behind next-generation healthcare will be critical in turning breakthroughs into real-world impact.
