LTC Dubai: F1 Applied to the Real World

04 December 2025

Ahead of the Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix weekend we hosted a fascinating discussion on how pioneering technologies and innovations from F1 are brought to everyday life.

From medical devices to energy recovery systems, dynamic displays to telemetry, entrepreneurial F1 teams are skilled at commercialising their inventions. It's no surprise that major tech companies also use F1 as a high performance playground for R&D and innovation.

A powerful example is 3x world champion and racing legend Sir Jackie Stewart applying the F1 mindset to one of the world’s most pressing problems: dementia. We were joined by Sir Jackie’s son Mark Stewart, award-winning filmmaker and chair at Race Against Dementia. During the discussion he showcased the 'Race Against Dementia Helmet’ - signed by every living F1 world champion to raise funds and awareness.

Our panel also included Mark Turner: Co-Founder & CEO at Silverstone Paint Technology - the market leader for high-performance paint technology; and Scott Branch, Group VP of Wasserman, the global leader in sports, music and entertainment - named Forbes’s most valuable sports agency.

And, we look forward to the release of Mark Stewart’s new documentary: Turbulence, The Greatest Mind in F1 - about legendary F1 designer Adrian Newey - co-producing with Artists Equity and Whisper.
