'Beyond Traditional Finance' with Martin Gilbert
and FinTech Growth Fund at Browns Hotel

02 May 2024

FinTech is revolutionising the financial services industry by simplifying transactions, reducing costs, empowering customers, and enhancing security. The UK is the second largest destination for FinTech investment after the US.

At this breakfast, we discussed how FinTech is embedded across more than just the finance ecosystem, and how growth capital is fuelling the UK’s pre-eminence in this field.  A special thank you to our fantastic speakers:

Martin Gilbert - finance industry veteran and Chairman of Revolut - one of the UK's largest FinTech unicorns.  Martin is co-founder of Aberdeen Asset Management, which he successfully led for 30 years. He is also Chairman of AssetCo and Toscafund.

Angel Issa - Co-Founder and CIO at London-based FinTech Growth Fund - a leading growth stage investor, deploying capital across every vertical of the FinTech ecosystem. Angel was previously head of investments at Nomura, BNP Paribas, Morgan Stanley.

Phil Vidler - Co-Founder and Managing Partner at FinTech Growth Fund and CEO of FinTech Alliance, a non-for-profit digital platform in partnership with the UK Government, supporting the growth of UK’s FinTech ecosystem.
